Paint Your DSLR!
Thursday, March 11th, 2010Let’s face it. Aren’t we all tired of seeing black DSLRs? These fine folks over at DigitalRev sure are. They decided to paint their Nikon D90 a nice pink/magenta.

Nothing is more aggravating than recording a video and then finding out later that your video is ruined due to an overly bright recording light. With the Kodak Zi8 pocket HD camera, this problem seems to happen quite often. You cannot record in low light or record any glossy type surfaces due to the record light being so bright. All of the videos have a red tint or a red dot right in the center of them.
Fed up with the red cast and red dots in my videos, I decided to do something about it. I was going to put tape over the light but then I realized, tape would eventually come off and then it’d leave a sticky residue on the camera. So the next best thing to do was to paint the darn thing! I didn’t want to paint the outside because I figured it’d be more work than what it is and it’d also take away from the over all appearance of the device. I found out you can remove the lens cover and gain access to the light post from within the lens cover.

It seems that we are seeing robotics and transformers becoming more and more main stream. It is not like the days when transformers was originally popular and we were impressed by 2 or 3 manipulation point robotics. People are making free standing robotic creations in their backyard with 10′s if not 100′s points of manipulation. It makes me wonder how close we are from having movies as like Wall- E being true. Although the movie was fairly light hearted it had a very strong emotional under current that was very discontenting because I could very easily see a large portion of our population do something like that and not give it a second thought. Now back to the main point of this article is to take a look at how these complex robotics are maintaining their balance as well as carrying on a grudge match on what appears to be a white board. I must say that I am impressed by the performance here. Now take into account that this was uploaded to you tube a little over two years ago. Imagine what this company could do with investment and developing. Would love to see any lurkers or guests tell me what they think.
In an effort to contribute today I have brought you something a little bit on the lighter side. Here we have what could be the next evolution of a MacBook. First we had the MacBook Air now the next logical move the MacBook Airship (yeah yeah I know but I prefaced that cheesy comment with this will be a post on the lighter side).

I really enjoy the new interface tweaks and the ability to style your messages. I will be thrilled when they add AIM support. Some features I would like to see would have to be horizontal typing and possibly the ability to add custom colors to the message styles via color picker, there are some decent colors to choose from. I’d rather have the ability to choose custom colors via the color picker.
I would also like to be able to hear he message sounds when you’re in the active IM window. The sounds only emit when you receive a message from someone in the background. Other than that, this application is very simple, fast, and it works well.
